I first met Onyi at a careers fair which was attended by a group of my year 12 and 13 students. Onyi sat on a panel of speakers and his capacity to coherently speak to student concerns motivated me to contact him with a view of commencing a working relationship for the benefit of our school’s underachieving students. In July 2013, Onyi came to the Petchey Academy (Hackney, London) to deliver a session with a group of year 9 and 10 boys. His presentation and oratory skills enabled him to immediately capture the attention of a group who often struggle to focus in some of their academic lessons. The content was dynamically delivered, target driven and relevant and these factors were verified by all attendees. The Q&A session which proceeded afterwards was informative and humorous with Onyi never deviating from the essence of maximising educational potential. Onyi has run a workshop for our young people for the past three years; this is for our Year 10 study skills day. I found the services of B1 Coaching at the YOUR TIME IS NOW monthly Life Coaching workshop both exciting and liberating. Onyi gave a presentation at HMYOI Aylesbury to 40 serving young offenders. He automatically got their attention by speaking to them about the power of choice. Onyi then talked about himself, he described how he had a troubled background. The results of this troubled background almost ended up with him being nearly shot dead. The presentation was very dynamic and proved to be thought provoking. Onyi’s delivery style was very passionate and confident, a testament to the maturation process which he spoke of during the presentation. He explained and outlined clear action points, which if effectively applied can lead to a positive and productive life. He also expanded on the power of decision making and how choices map a person's life. In motivating individuals at the presentation,Onyi made no excuses for complacency and challenged everyone in the room including myself, to live a practical life with effective application of the taught principles. He expressed the importance of being tenacious, if individuals want to achieve their goals and vision. Onyi answered a lot of challenging questions but remained calm and positive throughout the discussion. The YOUR TIME IS NOW monthly Life Coaching workshop was really good.
